Week 1:

Storybook Favorites:

Karma:

This story is based in part off of the show The Good Place. This is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I think they did a great job letting the reader know what the story is about the 2 sources of material that they drew from to create their story. I was mostly intrigued by the fact that they used the good place. This is so interesting because India and the good place have very different idea about the after life and ideologies. It will be interesting to see how they clash. I like the unique approach that the good place takes on how everything you do in life have consequences even if you are doing the right thing. In today’s world with so much access to information, we can see how everything that we do impacts something else. Though i like the emphasis on The Good Place, I think they could have focused a little more on the India story because more people are less familiar with that. I definitely think the the lay out of a page can intrigue or completely repel people from reading. The more pictures the better. It helps keep the audiences attention. In their intro they had a good number of pictures that allows the reader to have a better understanding of the environment. They also included a trailer to the first season of the good place. This is super helpful for those who have not seen the show. It can also help anticipate the types of thing the reader can expect to see later. Their actual story is interesting because it sounds like a TV show script. It is playing off the fact that they are using a TV show for inspiration. I have scene the show so I can perfectly picture characters in this setting as I go through the story.

When Trees Walk:

I am super invested in environmental conservation. That is what led me to click on this story. I was amazed when I read that it was rooted in history. It is awesome to think that even in 1730 people were concerned with the impact humans were having on the environment. I also find the idea of sacred trees super interesting. I love Avatar. In Avatar Eywa uses special trees to heal and communicate with the Nav'vi. Game of Thrones also has trees with religious ties. They are called Weirwood trees. They are used to pray to their old gods and have a special connection to the tree eyed raven. They are located in the center of Godswood. These are just a few example of other stories that use trees as a part of their religious expression. I think this idea leads itself to resemble fantasy story telling. For the layout of the blog they only had 1 picture in the intro. It world have been cool if they showed pictures of example pf trees that have a religious connotation. Their language is good they just needed to put a picture with the example they were discussing. These trees are not known to the reader most likely and they are not very likely to google a picture of the trees on their own. I like how clean their layout is. I really like the photo being a part of their header and may incorporate that into my blog. I also really like the font that they have for their headers. The photo choice is also good it really helps to set the mood of the text. I hope to do the same. It just seems very dense with words it is good to break them up with images that will help keep people interested.

I've Got A Job For You:

This story is so successful intruiging the reader.  I would read this for fun regardless of this class. It is talking directly to the reader so it makes you feel as though you are a part of the story. This person is probably going to be a famous writer someday because they are amazing. It is just fun to read. You are just trying to anticipate what will happen next. It does this even with the introduction. I hope that I can make my writing half as engaging as theirs. This makes me greatly consider writing my story in second person.

Week 7 Story: Your Worst Fear

Week 7 Story: Your Worst Fear Meme Authors Note: Source .   Indian Myth and Legend   by Donald A. Mackenzie (1913). I really liked the description of the monster in the tale, and it made me want to write a rhyme describing a monster in detail. I hope you enjoy!! How can one capture the horror? For this description is no snorer. I speak of a beast Who enjoys to feast. His hunger is only satisfied by the juicy flesh of many a human being. When mortal souls look upon him you know they are peeing. To give you an idea of his features that are so chilling. With simply a glance they could sure be killing. He is truly grim to behold. On him grows plenty of mold. Gazing into his blood red piercing eyes Could result in one’s demise. His skin was grey as ash, But he’s a messy eater so there is a red splash. With a mouth like a chasm, He uses his powerful jaws with enthusiasm. This mouth reeked of decay. This is from hi...

Reading A: Babbitt. More Jataka Tales

Reading A:  Babbitt. More Jataka Tales Image Title : More Jataka Tales Author : Ellen C. Babbitt Illustrator : Ellsworth Young Year : 1922 The Girl Monkey and the String of Pearls : This is a really fun concept for a story and would be great to turn into a rhyme The Three Fishes : This is very short but would make a cute rhyme. I like how it portrays what happens if you don't think through your actions and are lazy. The Tricky Wolf and the Rats : This is a different version of the cat story I added to my website. I like this version but I prefer the other because cat and rats are a common pairing. The Woodpecker, Turtle, and Deer : This was cute. I hate that hunter lol. I could easily turn this into a rhyme for my storybook. The Golden Goose : This was ok story. I rather write about a different one. I also think that there should be karma for the mom. The Stupid Monkeys : I read this story already. It is strange but could be turned into a good ...
