Week 2 Reading Overview:

Week 2 Reading Overview:

For week 3 I am wanting to choose to use the audio version.

Comic Books:

-Ganga: The Divine Beauty: Story
-I like that it sounds like greek mythology.  I think that the phrase “drink up the whole ocean” is hilarious. I do not know why but I just picture a giant with a huge straw and making a funny face because it tastes horrible. This story also just kind of seems a bit dark. Sacrificing is kinda scary concept to me.

-Ganesha: The Remover of all Obstacles: Story
-I have seen this imagery of this elephant person and would like to understand / know the story behind this character. It isn’t anything that I am familiar with and will be interesting knowing where it comes from.

Videos:

-Hindu Creation Stories:YouTube
-I am not religious but I do enjoy trying to understand various religions and where there reasoning comes from. To me it is a lot like the Grimms’ Fairy Tales. These are all stories that are aiming to give people morals to live by. In other words, allowing the reader to bypass mistakes and take lessons learned by those in the stories.
-Rama & the Ramayana: Crash Course World.. YouTube

I like this video because Crash course is a trusted source. I have used them in other classes and I like learning about things in a more academic setting rather than a person who may believe stories to be 100% fact so that way there is less bias in the information that I am given.

Week 7 Story: Your Worst Fear

Week 7 Story: Your Worst Fear Meme Authors Note: Source .   Indian Myth and Legend   by Donald A. Mackenzie (1913). I really liked the description of the monster in the tale, and it made me want to write a rhyme describing a monster in detail. I hope you enjoy!! How can one capture the horror? For this description is no snorer. I speak of a beast Who enjoys to feast. His hunger is only satisfied by the juicy flesh of many a human being. When mortal souls look upon him you know they are peeing. To give you an idea of his features that are so chilling. With simply a glance they could sure be killing. He is truly grim to behold. On him grows plenty of mold. Gazing into his blood red piercing eyes Could result in one’s demise. His skin was grey as ash, But he’s a messy eater so there is a red splash. With a mouth like a chasm, He uses his powerful jaws with enthusiasm. This mouth reeked of decay. This is from hi...

Reading B: Babbitt. More Jataka Tales

Reading B:  Babbitt. More Jataka Tales Meme How the Monkey Saved His Troop : This was a cute story. I would write a rhyme over this story. I would rather the king promise to leave their tree be. The Hawks and their Friends : This story was boring to me. I have preferred reading the others over this one. The Brave Little Bowman : This was adorable!!! This will be the next story I write! I'm excited!! The Foolhardy Wolf : That was a pretty good story. I like that even though you may be good it is important to know your limitations. The Stolen Plow : This is a different version of a story that I have already written a rhyme or. This interpretation makes more sense so it is better in my eyes. The Lion in Bad Company : This story is wild. I don't really like it at all.  don't like stereotypes and I would not write a rhyme about this story. The Wise Goat and the Wolf : The best part was the wolf looking and the goat saw. It is hilarious that the...
