Reading Notes: Part A: Giant Crab

The Giant Crab: W. H. D. Rouse
I think that this would be a great addition to turn into a rhyme. I love that it is a giant crab. It is very fantasy and childlike. I also like how the story is written. It is awesome that the elephants fight back. It was a lovely story.

The Hypocritical Cat
W. H. D. Rouse
This is a great story to add to my rhymes. I think there could be some really fun word ply. A lot rhymes with cat and rat. I also love the strategy! I also love that it came back to bite the cat in the butt literally!!

The Crocodile and the Monkey
W. H. D. Rouse
I already wrote a rhyme about this story and I still find it charming.

The Axe, the Drum, the Bowl, and the Diamond
W. H. D. Rouse
I am loving these stories starting once upon a time. I love storybooks so these are exactly the kind of stories I like to hear and tell. It would be fun to describe the island in rhyme. I really think this would be easy to write a rhyme about.
This did give me an idea for a short story. If once the man took the diamond he too would turn into a pig. Or him turning into a pig would set the other person (the sleeping pig) free.

The Wise Parrot and the Foolish Parrot
W. H. D. Rouse
I absolutely love the line "indeed they had more sense than most people have"  that feels so relatable! I am loving this set of stories this one would be great to write a rhyme about. There is already a rhyme from the story I can use “Good Beaky!” said the man; “Naughty Tweaky!”

The Dishonest Friend
W. H. D. Rouse
This is a great story to write a rhyme about. I also love that it has a moral of honesty which is great for children's stories.

The Mouse and the Farmer
W. H. D. Rouse
This is so kid friendly and not at the same time I LOVE IT!! This is so funny and would be great to write a rhyme about it.

The Talkative Tortoise
W. H. D. Rouse
This is so sad. I don't think I will write a rhyme about this one. Honestly, my friend Elizabeth is that Tortoise.. lol

The Monkeys and the Gardener
W. H. D. Rouse
This was an ok story. I have liked the others more but would write a rhyme about it. I can't really blame the guy too much for trusting the monkeys.. THEY COULD TALK!

The Goblin and the Sneeze
W. H. D. Rouse
This is such a funny concept. I love he gets to eat people that sneeze. It is like the Goblin King really wants to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Or hates people who have seasonal allergies. I want the goblin to spill pepper and tickle their noses with feathers all of the cliches to make them sneeze.

The Grateful Beasts and the Ungrateful Prince
W. H. D. Rouse
There are some great word choice and similies that would be great to translate to rhyme. I also love how matter of fact the death was. Also that they just made some random guy king is so funny.

The Goblin in the Pool
W. H. D. Rouse
I love a good goblin story. I like the writing style a lot more with these stories. AHHHH I was wanting them to use straws and they did!!!!!! That is a great story to write a rhyme about!

The Foolish Farmer and the King
W. H. D. Rouse
I like that this story's meaning. You should always try even if you fail because it can lead to good things. This would be a great addition to my rhymes.

The Pious Wolf
W. H. D. Rouse
I don't like fasting it is bad for anyone's health. So, I don't want to write a story that is based on that. I also did not like the story very much. It was less universal compared to the other ones.

Week 7 Story: Your Worst Fear

Week 7 Story: Your Worst Fear Meme Authors Note: Source .   Indian Myth and Legend   by Donald A. Mackenzie (1913). I really liked the description of the monster in the tale, and it made me want to write a rhyme describing a monster in detail. I hope you enjoy!! How can one capture the horror? For this description is no snorer. I speak of a beast Who enjoys to feast. His hunger is only satisfied by the juicy flesh of many a human being. When mortal souls look upon him you know they are peeing. To give you an idea of his features that are so chilling. With simply a glance they could sure be killing. He is truly grim to behold. On him grows plenty of mold. Gazing into his blood red piercing eyes Could result in one’s demise. His skin was grey as ash, But he’s a messy eater so there is a red splash. With a mouth like a chasm, He uses his powerful jaws with enthusiasm. This mouth reeked of decay. This is from hi...

Reading A: Babbitt. More Jataka Tales

Reading A:  Babbitt. More Jataka Tales Image Title : More Jataka Tales Author : Ellen C. Babbitt Illustrator : Ellsworth Young Year : 1922 The Girl Monkey and the String of Pearls : This is a really fun concept for a story and would be great to turn into a rhyme The Three Fishes : This is very short but would make a cute rhyme. I like how it portrays what happens if you don't think through your actions and are lazy. The Tricky Wolf and the Rats : This is a different version of the cat story I added to my website. I like this version but I prefer the other because cat and rats are a common pairing. The Woodpecker, Turtle, and Deer : This was cute. I hate that hunter lol. I could easily turn this into a rhyme for my storybook. The Golden Goose : This was ok story. I rather write about a different one. I also think that there should be karma for the mom. The Stupid Monkeys : I read this story already. It is strange but could be turned into a good ...
